The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is inviting proposals from qualified individuals and professional firms to conduct a comprehensive Master Fire Plan.

The goal of this project is to review the fire service, determine its current suitability and future requirements as they relate to predicted growth and service delivery expectations over the next 10 years.

Through submission of a proposal, successful firms will identify their experience that the Township of Asphodel-Norwood may use for future assignments as deemed appropriate.

The Master Fire Plan (MFP) will consist of a review of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood and its Asphodel-Norwood Fire and Rescue (ANFR) that culminates into a 10-year plan for future opportunities for organizational improvements.

The MFP shall:

  • Assess present and future population statistics and anticipated growth.
  • Evaluate past and present service levels provided by the ANFR in relation to service goals and expectations.
  • Provide a comprehensive look at how well ANFR is meeting the needs of its staff and the community it serves.
  • Recommendations shall comprise of Operational Recommendations for Department consideration and Strategic Recommendations that require the approval and support of council to move forward on.
  • The Township of Asphodel-Norwood has initiated the proposal for a replacement of Fire Station 1 in the Town of Norwood so the RFP shall address this possibility.
