Municipal World is proud to announce the launch of The Local Government Awards, a new award series highlighting four areas where influence and direction help shape the landscape of municipalities in Canada. Nominations must be received no later than 11 p.m. EDT on Friday, Oct. 4.

Mayor of The Year

Chosen by the editors of Municipal World, the Mayor of The Year award recognizes a Canadian mayor who goes above and beyond the call of duty for their municipality. This award celebrates the efforts of individuals who face challenges with poise and strength, leading their councils and communities towards a bright future.

Shining a spotlight on exemplary Chief Administration Officers that drive our communities forward. This award recognizing outstanding dedication, innovation, and leadership in Canadian municipal governance. Women of Influence

The Women of Influence in Local Government Award celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the field, whether on the administrative or political side of life. Women who have demonstrated grace under pressure. Women who have worked collaboratively and lifted up others along the way in the pursuit of affecting positive change in communities.

Who Is Eligible?

Nominees must be at least 18 years of age or older. Previous winners, employees and immediate family members of Municipal World Inc. and its subsidiaries and sponsors of the awards program are ineligible. Nominations may only be submitted in the name of a single person; group nominations are not acceptable.

By submitting a nomination, you agree to grant sponsors the right without obligation, unless prohibited by law, to use the contents of your nomination, your name, voice, picture, and likeness, without compensation, for the purpose of advertising and publicizing all matters related to the awards program and/or the sponsors in any medium, throughout the world in perpetuity. Nominees may be contacted to provide additional information and have their information verified. Municipal World reserves the right to request and require additional information from nominees to have their nomination considered.
