A unique opportunity for a strategic leader and innovator in public service delivery to influence the future direction of the Court Services Division.

As the Director, Court Services, you will lead, manage and direct all functions of the Court Services Division responsible for the highest quality delivery of the Provincial Offences Court program across Toronto, in four district court offices, and for responding to the needs of the judiciary, enforcement agencies, prosecutors, public and the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. You will also lead and direct the functions responsible for service delivery to the Administrative Penalty Tribunal, the Toronto Local Appeal Body and the Toronto Licensing Tribunal.

Your excellent knowledge related to ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Provincial Offences Act, Courts of Justice Act, Evidence Act, Justice of the Peace Act and ministerial regulations, and your extensive experience in providing strategic direction and guidance to the Mayor, City Council, City Standing Committees, the Deputy City Manager, and other stakeholders in all aspects and functions of the Court Services Division are paramount.

Utilizing your extensive senior management experience, strong leadership qualities and well-developed people management skills, you will be the Court Services Division municipal leader in the promotion of service delivery innovation, lead transformation strategies, and achieve desired results that align with the City’s strategic directions and Council priorities.

Your passion and drive in establishing a culture of public service excellence, as well as your ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce, promote and foster effective teamwork, and create a culture of co-operation and collaboration within the Division and across the organization will be front and centre.

Your highly developed human relation skills will enable you to liaise with key stakeholders in the justice system, including the Ministry of the Attorney General, Judges, Justices of the Peace, paralegal and legal staff, enforcement agencies and others interested in the administration of justice.

Your experience in developing, designing and implementing functional policies and programs that make major changes in overall business performance based on long-term needs, establishing divisional and program goals and objectives that align with the overall corporate management framework, as well as directing the public service elements and business support functions of courts and courts administration, in particular, revenue and collections management and financial and resource planning, will be invaluable
