This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Services this role is responsible for the management of municipal facilities security/life safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in Building Environmental Systems with a focus on security/life safety and a minimum of five (5) years of related facility operations experience. Must have experience with tendering processes and contract administration, and be able to read and interpret drawings. Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multi-task, work in a team-based environment with a focus on continuous improvement and quality customer service are key. The candidate should have previous exposure in the preparation of forecasting budgets and cost estimates and report and/or policy and procedure writing. Working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations such as the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Ontario Fire Code is required. Proficiency with computer software applications including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Access Control and CCTV systems is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening by the first day of employment. Travel will be required, incumbent must provide their own transportation. The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment. Flexibility in working hours will be required.
