We have three (3) openings for a Project Manager in the Building Design and Construction Division.

Seeking one (1) Project Manager in the Facility New Development Services Team that possesses considerable knowledge and experience pertaining to new capital project planning for municipal buildings.  This includes researching, formatting and documenting functional program requirements, site development due diligence, facility fit studies and reviewing applicable requirements for Site Plan Approval process and any other authorities of jurisdiction.  The ability to create and maintain building development standards, outline specifications, predesign and schematic diagrams and developing and preparing procurement documentation such as Expression of Interest, Prequalification Documents, Requests for Proposals and Construction Tenders would be considered an asset.

A member of the OAA, or equivalent architectural related education including specification/proposal writing or land development experience is mandatory.


Seeking Two (2) Project Managers within the Project Delivery Team with considerable knowledge and experience in project management, construction site management, stakeholder management and technical support, and coordination with internal City divisions /external agencies.  The Project Manager works as a part of a larger integrated delivery team which is responsible for the implementation of state of good repair (SOGR), interior office moves, renovations, additions and new construction projects.  The Project Manager will lead the team of staff, external consultants and contractors to carry out multiple projects and oversee all aspects of projects; from the project initiation phase to close out.

A member of the professional association or eligible to obtain membership with; ARIDO, OAA, PEO, OACETT , PMP  or  equivalent professional designations with considerable relevant experience is mandatory

These roles will help to position Brampton for the future by playing a key role on a team that builds trust and confidence through the application of sound design and construction principles to develop a sustainable portfolio of city facilities.

The successful candidate(s) should:

  • Have excellent judgement and decision making skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have extensive experience in project management in the design and construction industry.
  • Be a collaborative team player who is able to build professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. city staff, senior management, members of Council, the general public, agencies, boards, consultants and contractors).
  • Be an enthusiastic, positive, high energy self-starter.
  • Be a proven leader, mentor and organized professional who can implement high quality capital projects on time and within budget.
  • Have proven experience or a solid understanding of project management of capital planning and or implementing the design and construction of large new facilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and government legislations compliance and contract administration.
