The City of Chestermere is seeking a new Chief Administrative Officer. Rated by Sats Can as one of the fastest growing communities in Canada, Chestermere, which became Alberta’s newest City in 2015 now has a population of almost 20,000.
A member of the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board – a conglomeration of municipalities centred on Calgary, Chestermere enjoys almost unparalleled prosperity and opportunity. In addition to excellent stability, the City of Chestermere offers an attractive environment for a development-focused CAO in a highly desirable community in the Greater Calgary area. The Chief Administrative Officer oversees a total of approximately 160 FTE City staff and a City budget of $28 million.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in city management including a minimum of 4 years of management, administrative, and supervisory responsibility. Prior CAO experience and a Master’s degree are desirable.
