On December 12, 2017, Bill 139, The Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017 received Royal Assent. It will come into effect on a date to be proclaimed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
The Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017 will replace the Ontario Municipal Board with the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, to help ensure that proceedings before the Tribunal are faster, fairer and more affordable. The new legislation will also create the Local Planning Appeal Support Centre (LPASC), to provide support services to the public with respect to planning matters under the jurisdiction of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.
An immediate priority for the newly created LPASC will be the appointment of an inaugural Executive Director. Reporting directly to a Board of Directors, the Executive Director will direct and manage operations in delivering information and support services across the province, and providing leadership and direction to LPASC staff. S/he will provide advice, expertise, and support to the Chair and Board.
In this high profile, non-profit agency leadership role, you have the requisite expertise and experience to guide a significant organization through start-up growth and change. You will bring executive leadership skills managing the day-to-day operations of an agency that serves the public, and has past success in managing within a Board/agency setting. Equally suited to the complex legal and operational challenges of this pivotal role, you will add presence, sensitivity, strategic/ business/ financial planning, risk management monitoring and overall operational direction of the LPASC as approved and directed by the Board.
