Reporting to the Divisional Managers, you manage a project team consisting of internal staff, retained consultants and contractors in delivering water resources projects related to storm water ponds, in-stream and valleyland works; as well as a variety of other capital projects.  As the successful candidate you will:

  • direct the investigative, detailed design, approval, tender, utility coordination, construction and contract administration stages of each project assigned thereby ensuring the continued success of the annual Capital Program
  • strategically support preparations for, attend and respond to public concerns or question arising from Public Information Drop-in Centres
  • contribute directly to the preparation and assemblage of complete contract bid packages
  • be responsible for the administrative duties associated with design, contracting, and construction including customer service, maintenance of concise accurate records monitoring process, procedure, negotiation, schedules and financial documentation for all projects assigned.

You will have a university degree in Water Resources Engineering or Civil Engineering combined with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing projects. Candidates with experience delivering water resource projects preferred.  Your background encompasses proven municipal design, construction, and contract administration practice. You are an accomplished, competent decision-maker and mediator skilled in dealing with the public, regulatory approval agencies, consultants and contractors in facilitating all facets of municipal design and construction activity. You are highly organized, team player possessing excellent judgment, communication and interpersonal skills; adept at realizing success with minimal supervision. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Project Management Institute (PMI) framework project management training will be considered an asset. You demonstrate the Town’s corporate values of service, collaboration, care, and courage. You must possess a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle for use on corporate business (mileage compensated. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of vehicle insurance and/or a satisfactory driver’s abstract from the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario upon hire.

The salary for this position is $103,163. - $119,661.
