Reporting to the Director of Planning & Development Services, the Manager of Planning provides leadership, supervision and coordination of the policy planning, development approvals, transportation planning, heritage and urban design functions of the Planning Section.  The position manages the legislated municipal planning responsibilities as the Town's principal planning advisor.

As the successful candidate, you will manage and lead the review of development applications and planning reports to Committees and Council, including attendance at public hearings and community meetings; manages the Official Plan, Zoning By-law; manages and leads long-range and specialized studies; liaises with Provincial and local agencies; manages and leads unique and/or highly complex planning projects/studies.  In addition, the position provides conflict resolution, negotiates and mediates planning issues and provides expert evidence at OMB hearings.

Your degree in Planning is complemented with relative work and supervisory experience.  You are a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (MCIP).  You have proven success in providing expert testimony before the Ontario Municipal Board on complex planning issues. 

Salary range:  $118,174 - $131,304 annually (35 hour week).  The Town also offers a comprehensive benefit package with paid vacation.
