Economic Development and Tourism Manager

Town of Inuvik

The successful candidate will be required to:
  • Be a self-motivated and highly organized person
  • Have working knowledge of the tourism industry and an understanding of the northern cultural and political environment,
  • Have an understanding of Economic Development and Tourisms role in local government
  • Show proven knowledge of and have at least three years’ experience managing and supervising staff
  • Show proficient knowledge in Economic Development theories and practices
  • Hold a relevant diploma or degree in Economic Development and/or Tourism
  • Have a valid Driver’s License

Equivalencies recognizing related education and experience may be considered 

The Town of Inuvik is a growing, dynamic community that serves as the hub of the Beaufort Delta Region. We are looking for someone who will lead the team to implement the recently completed Economic Development Strategy and Program for the Town of Inuvik which includes marketing and promotion of Inuvik as a destination for visitation, investment, and community living.       

The successful applicant must pass a current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check with the RCMP

The current starting salary is $82,895 per year with a Northern Allowance $13,837 per year.
