The Town of Greater Napanee is an urban/rural municipality with a population of approximately 16,000 located on the north shore of Lake Ontario and includes frontage on Hay Bay, the Napanee River and Salmon River. With access on Highway 401, the community is halfway between Toronto and Montreal.
The Town of Greater Napanee seeks a contemporary manager with a successful track record to provide strategic leadership and general management to a broad corporate portfolio that includes Fire Suppression, Fleet Management, Emergency Management Services, Corporate Training, Corporate Health and Safety, Community Accessibility and Public Education portfolios. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer you will work collaboratively with the CAO and two other General Manager positions to guide the operations of the corporation and achieve Council’s goals and priorities. With the help of your management team that includes a Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Manager of Safety Compliance and Accessibility; you will foster efficiencies, effectiveness, and a solid customer service approach.
A solid understanding and proven experience managing a composite fire department with 72 volunteer firefighters and 10 full-time staff, knowledge of local government policy development and contemporary management practices is necessary; along with demonstrated success working effectively with elected officials and building strong relationships with staff and community.
With the leaving of our current General Manager Emergency Services and Fire Chief on October 2, 2017, the Town wants to proceed quickly to ensure continuity within our solid leadership team.
