We are seeking an emerging leader who is accountable and confident, driven, high energy, and consistently exercises sound judgment. White Rock provides the opportunity for the hands on Engineering and Operational experience key to the development of an Engineer preparing for the most senior roles in Municipal Engineering. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to lead and deliver some of the approximate $40M in capital projects scheduled for 2018.
The position of Manager, Engineering is an integral member of the Engineering & Municipal Operations Department management team. Reporting to the Director, you are responsible for leading the Engineering Services Division, which includes Land Development Engineering, Capital Program, Master Planning, Permit Approvals and Facilities Management. In this role, you will oversee and provide technical expertise for a wide variety of municipal infrastructure projects and programs related, but not limited to, transportation, utilities and building maintenance, including the implementation of a facilities prevention and maintenance program. You must have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with your staff, other City departments, contracted services and a diverse group of stakeholders
The position requires a degree in civil engineering, or related field, and registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in BC supported by sound knowledge of engineering principles and practices. The right person will be a natural leader within a unionized work environment supported by excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
