Township of Evanturel

The Township of Evanturel is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Treasurer.  The position is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the financial processes and municipal accounting activities of the Corporation. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Overall general accounting functions such as cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and administration/reporting requirements.
  • Preparation and monitoring of budgets, monitoring cash flow and the corporate general ledger system.
  • Responsible for adequate insurance requirements and risk management processes.
  • Accounting for grants and projects.
  • Preparation of year end reports and audit requirements.
  • Recommends and monitors financial policies.
  • Administration of tangible capital assets.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be Bondable.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 year’s experience in a finance environment.
  • AMCT designation; MAFP and tax collectors courses would be an asset.
  • Enrollment in an accounting designation program would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislative framework and understanding of Municipal government operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheets, accounting software, web applications and database management.

Rate of Pay: Based on applicable qualifications and experience. This salary position is 35 hours per week.  The Municipality provides an attractive benefit package and OMERS.
