The Opportunity

As the Capital Facility Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and administration of the City of Thunder Bay’s facility related capital projects. This role reports to the Supervisor, Capital Facility Construction.  From recreational centres, emergency services, and municipal buildings, your work will directly contribute to creating and maintaining safe and functional spaces for the residents and visitors to enjoy.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A diploma in architectural, engineering or construction technology; and
  • Five years’ of related practical experience with preparing technical drawings and construction documents.
  • Construction related contract administration experience with demonstrated knowledge of current construction methods and documentation processes, including the Ontario Building Code and related legislation
  • Must be proficient with the use of AutoCAD.
  • Must be certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) or Architectural Technologist of Ontario (MATTO)
  • Recent experience in reading and reviewing technical documents, project scheduling, and reviews, and coordinating the work of owners, design consultants and contractors
