Reeve Mitchell Huber and councillors have welcomed Sameh Nashed as the next Chief Administrative Officer for the Rural Municipality of Edenwold.
“We began the process of finding a new C.A.O. in the summer of last year,” Huber said. “After conducting a robust search and considering many excellent candidates, we are very happy to welcome Sameh Nashed to the RM of Edenwold team.”
Nashed brings with him 20-plus years of experience in senior management roles from several sectors including energy and technology. Most recently, he led a vast portfolio of projects at SaskPower as an Executive Consultant and project management expert. Throughout his extensive career, Nashed has held senior management positions at companies such as IBM Canada, M3i Systems/HydroQuebec and Research in Motion where he developed a collaborative approach to successfully implement performance-driven strategies and systems.
“Mr. Nashed’s professionalism and experience managing growth across industries made him stand out as the right person for the C.A.O. role,” said Huber. “As we continue to progress the RM and build strong relationships with our neighbours and communities, Mr. Nashed’s proven ability to work with many different stakeholders and successfully deliver large and complex projects will allow us to continue advancing those priorities.”
Nashed became CAO effective February 1. He succeeded Kim McIvor, who retired on December 18, 2020.
