The council of the Town of Perth is pleased to announce Mr. Michael Touw as the successful candidate hired as the town’s new Chief Administrative Officer who will commence his duties on May 1, 2020.

Michael comes to the Town of Perth from Peterborough County, where he has been since 2017. Prior to that, he spent his career working in Eastern Ontario (Rideau Lakes, Gananoque, Leeds & the Thousand Islands). The move to Perth is a natural fit for Michael, with his family having deep roots in nearby Westport. Michael brings years of municipal experience in various roles in Public Works, Utilities, Recreation, Fire Department, and Acting CAO. He also spent a short stint in the private sector assisting with residential and commercial development projects.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering Degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Public Administration from Western University, and has volunteered with the Ontario Good Roads Association as a member of the Board of Directors and as a School Director where he shares his knowledge teaching in the municipal sector.

Michael is looking forward to joining the town; and working with council and staff to continue the excellent work and progress that Heritage Perth has underway.
