Bruce County has announced the appointment of Mark Paoli as the new Director of Planning and Development.
As a member of the county’s Senior Leadership Team, Paoli will oversee the continued development of the new Official Plan, as well as significant economic planning strategies and programs, including those responding to COVID-19 challenges.
Under Paoli’s leadership, the Planning and Development team will:
- Work with municipalities to be “development ready”
- Inspire and attract economic development, building on the county’s strong tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors
- Build on the successes of the county’s award-winning Explore the Bruce, Spruce the Bruce, and Business to Bruce initiatives
An experienced leader, Paoli has been a member of the Bruce County team since 2018, most recently serving as Land Use Planning Manager where he led several initiatives to improve land use planning services. He previously led planning activities and policy at Wellington County for over 18 years.
Paoli holds a Master of Science degree in Rural Planning and Development and is accredited as a Registered Planning Professional with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
