Appointment as City Manager
City of Northglenn

Heather Geyer was appointed as City Manager for the City of Northglenn, CO at the July 23  Council meeting, and will assume her duties on Aug. 20, 2018. Geyer replaces former city manager James Hayes, who resigned in June.

“I am honored and excited to be appointed to serve as the city manager for the city of Northglenn,” said Geyer.  “I look forward to working with the City Council, staff, residents, and business owners to continue to move Northglenn forward with a vision for the future!”

Geyer comes to Northglenn from the City of Wheat Ridge, where she has served as administrative services director since 2011, and as the assistant to the city manager/public information officer from 2006 to 2010. She brings more than 19 years of experience in local government management.

“We’re pleased to have Heather join us as city manager,” said Mayor Carol Dodge. “Her experience and many years of municipal leadership will be an asset to the City of Northglenn.”

Geyer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Denver and a Master’s of Arts in Political Science with an Emphasis in Public Policy from the University of Colorado at Denver. Geyer serves as a Mountain Plains regional vice president on the International City-County Management Association (ICMA) Executive Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) and a graduate of the Leadership ICMA Class of 2015. She has received numerous national and state awards for organizational development, budget development and communications.
