Mayor Phil Harding and Council have announced the appointment of Derrick Hammond to the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of Muskoka Lakes, effective May 29, 2019.

Hammond brings over 25 years of municipal experience to the Township, with the last 21 years in roles here in Muskoka, with both the district offices and our neighbouring area municipalities. Derrick has held positions of increasing responsibility during his municipal career in the areas of planning, land-use, continuous improvement, sustainability, building, by-law, and economic development.

Being local to Muskoka, Hammond understands the best practices of service delivery within a small town and rural setting. Derrick has a proven track record of being a politically acute, innovative and a pragmatic leader. He has excelled at resolving a variety of multi-disciplinary issues through engaging and working with elected officials, staff, and the community to achieve solutions.
