Dr. Scott Cowen was the President of Tulane University in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck the city in August 2005. When it became apparent that city, state, and federal officials couldn’t agree on decisive solutions to the multi-faceted disaster, he stepped up to the plate and formed a team of civic, business, and not-for-profit leaders to develop and implement solutions.
