On October 22, 2018, the City of London made history: it became the first municipality in Canada to forego the traditional first past the post election. Instead, the city allowed electors to choose the incoming council in a ranked ballot election.

Going into the election, the city knew there would likely be some challenges – as is always the case when transitioning to something new … and without a lot of experience to draw on.
