There was much joy in Grimsby this past October, when the National Trust for Canada announced that the small Niagara Region town of 26,000 was to receive the 2015 edition of the Prince of Wales Prize for Municipal Heritage Leadership. Grimsby’s success is one that the whole town can take pride in, resulting from a remarkable community-wide commitment of more than a century to recognizing and conserving its heritage.
