A remarkable six decades of commitment to preserving its past for the future has earned the Town of Oakville, Ontario national honours as the 2010 winner of the Prince of Wales Prize for Municipal Heritage Leadership.

This prestigious award was established in 1999 by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, as part of the Heritage Canada Foundation’s National Awards Program. It is the ultimate prize for conserving built and cultural heritage resources among municipalities
