Many municipalities still failing to calculate and recover their drinking water costs
In May 2000, seven people died and 2,300 people were made sick when a mix of negligence, incompetence, and unfortunate circumstances led to the contamination of municipal drinking water in Walkerton, Ontario. The tragedy shook the nation, leading the public to question the safety of the tap water they get from municipalities.
