Kent Regional Service Commission
A model for regional collaboration in New Brunswick
In 2012, New Brunswick’s Minister of Environment and Local Government announced the creation of 12 regional service commissions (RSCs) that would replace planning and solid waste commissions. These two defunct commissions had specific mandates (planning and solid waste) and their board of directors were nominations from participating municipalities or, in the case of the local service districts (LSDs), nominations came from the Minister of Environment and Local Government.
