The City of Edmonton is being recognized with the 2023 Municipal World Innovation Award for its Lighthouse program, a new approach it has developed for identifying and tracking hate symbols.

“There is no room for hate and discrimination in our city,” said Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. “Lighthouse changes the way we approach vandalism and tagging in Edmonton.”
