Women Of Influence LGA
Women of Influence in Local Government
On International Women’s Day in 2019, Municipal World launched a new award celebrating Women of Influence in Local Government. This year, we are inviting you to nominate women who you believe are deserving of this recognition.
Who Is This Award For?
The Women of Influence in Local Government Award celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the field, whether on the administrative or political side of life. Women who have demonstrated leadership, strength, and determination. Women who have worked collaboratively and lifted up others along the way in the pursuit of effecting positive change in communities.
Municipal World will recognize women who:
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills, guiding teams and departments toward common goals;
- Foster collaboration, inspire confidence, and promote a positive work environment;
- Inspire confidence within the community, and the organization, while epitomizing transparency, accountability, and integrity;
- Contribute to long-term vision and growth strategies;
- Tends to social responsibilities while being accessible and respectful in driving collaborative solutions; and
- Display strong interpersonal abilities, building relationships, resolve conflicts, and maintain a harmonious workplace.
2025 WOI reminder
Municipal World is continuing to celebrate and recognize the incredible contributions of women in local government. With that in mind, here’s a friendly reminder for everyone – Nominations for the 2025 Women of Influence in Local Government Award will open early next year.
If you know someone who has been making significant contributions to the field, whether on the administrative or political side of life, keep an eye out for the nomination process.
