The Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Services Commission (EMTSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of James McDonald to the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO), Transit Operations, effective June 13, 2022.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, McDonald will work to deliver integrated regional transit services, including oversight of planning, scheduling, customer service, fleet management, and operations. McDonald brings vison and transit operations experience gained through his seven-year tenure as Director of Transit with the Saskatoon Transit Service, and prior leadership experience with Edmonton Transit Services. McDonald also served for more than 22 years as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
As COO, McDonald will work closely with the EMTSC Board and leadership team, member municipalities, and regional stakeholders to continue the evolution of an integrated public transit network serving all our residents, businesses, and communities.
