Parkland County Council announced earlier this month the appointment of Laura Swain as Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to commencing her role as Interim CAO in September 2020, Swain held the position of General Manager, Corporate and Shared Services with Parkland County. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Dalhousie University and has a strong background in public service that includes experience with municipal and provincial government, intergovernmental affairs and regional local government collaboration.
“I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside Council to establish Parkland County as a community of choice for our residents, businesses and all stakeholders and to provide leadership to the entire team at Parkland County to build a positive and results focused work environment,” said Ms. Swain.
“We are excited to have Ms. Swain lead Parkland County as CAO. Council has appreciated Ms. Swain’s dedication and leadership during her Interim role and is looking forward to working with Ms. Swain to achieve the goals and vision of Parkland County,” said Mayor Allan Gamble.
