Lloyd Brierley

Lethbridge City Council has appointed Lloyd Brierley as the new City Manager. Brierley will lead the organization after holding the position of Director of Infrastructure Services since last fall.

Brierley, originally from Saskatchewan, has many years of experience as a senior leader in a municipal government setting as well as with other levels of government and the private sector.  His most recent role, before joining the City of Lethbridge, was at the City of Toronto as General Manager of Fleet Services.

“My family and I have quickly fallen in love with Lethbridge and are excited to make this our home,” said Brierley. “Both my co-workers at the City of Lethbridge and residents in the community have made us feel welcomed and supported.”

“I am extremely confident in Mr. Brierley’s abilities and experience,” said Lethbridge Mayor Blaine Hyggen.  “He is a well-respected leader who will bring stability to the organization while still seeking out new opportunities to better serve our community.”

Brierley’s appointment is effective February 16. 2022 and he will work with current City Manager, Craig Dalton to transition into his new role over the next two weeks.
