The council of the Township of Seguin has hired Jason Inwood to be the next Chief Administrative Officer, effective November 2, 2020. Council was unanimous in their choice of Jason for the position after interviewing a total of six candidates.

Inwood comes to Seguin from the Town of Innisfil, where he served as Director of Operations from 2014 until now. In this role, Inwood has been responsible for corporate business performance, roads operations, fire and rescue services, parks & recreation, facilities, asset management, storm water management, land acquisition, and disposal and fleet service. He has been acting CAO at times throughout his tenure at Innisfil. Prior to joining Innisfil, he worked at the City of Vaughan for six years in a variety of roles.

Inwood describes himself as a spirited leader who promotes a corporate culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusivity, and trust. He has broad experience liaising with all levels of government, managing capital and operating budgets and the tactical delivery of community strategic plans.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the Township of Seguin in this leadership position. I see great potential for Seguin with exciting projects such as the Wellness Centre, airport expansion, and growth throughout the community,” stated Inwood. “My family and I are looking forward to being active in all aspects of community life throughout Seguin.”

Council undertook the search for a new CAO in June following the departure of the previous CAO. “We worked with Waterhouse Executive Search to source candidates from across Canada. Over 24 candidates were considered during the search. We are delighted to be welcoming Jason to Seguin,” stated Mayor Ann MacDiarmid.

Inwood holds a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University and further studies in Business Administration and Civil/Environmental Engineering from Georgian College and the University of Guelph.

Seguin Township is currently undertaking an Official Plan Review, has just completed a Service Delivery Review, and, is beginning the 2021 budgeting cycle. Mr. Inwood looks forward to joining the township and participating fully in all these important projects.
