After a thorough recruitment and selection process, the Township of Georgian Bluffs is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Norton as chief administrative officer, joining the township in mid-summer.
Mr. Norton is a licensed lawyer, and brings extensive experience as a senior municipal administrator. John has been a senior administrator with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent since 2011, holding both positions of Chief Legal Officer and General Manager of Community Development. His vast experience, as both a legal professional and municipal administrator, brings a variety of skills to his new role in Georgian Bluffs, including strong organizational and team development expertise. John has worked in partnership with councils to advance growth while respecting the history and heritage of a community. John is passionate about supporting local businesses, empowering staff to provide excellent customer service, transparency in local government, and financial accountability.
In anticipation of his new role, John noted: “I spent a summer in the Georgian Bluffs area back in 1994. I have not forgotten the beautiful views, the incredible hiking, and the warmth and friendliness of the people. I look forward to calling Georgian Bluffs my home. I am committed to working closely with council and staff and serving the people of Georgian Bluffs”.
Both council and staff are excited to welcome Mr. Norton to the Georgian Bluffs community, as we continue to strive for excellence.
