The Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Scott Butler as the incoming Executive Director for OGRA, effective August 1, 2020.
“We are pleased to announce the successful candidate for the role of Executive Director is OGRA’s current Manager, Policy and Research, Scott Butler. He’s been instrumental on the policy front, making critical connections with politicians, members of provincial and federal parliaments, stakeholders, and community groups while increasing OGRA’s profile. Scott has been part of the OGRA team since 2009,” said Rick Kester, OGRA President.
Mr. Butler will be succeeding Mr. Joe Tiernay in the role of Executive Director, when Mr. Tiernay retires August 1, 2020. “Scott has been a strong advocate for municipalities, infrastructure, and planning, and increasing OGRA’s profile,” said Joe Tiernay, Executive Director, OGRA. “Scott believes in OGRA’s strategic vision and mandate of advocacy, furthering our education and training, program development, and asset management. Please join me in welcoming Scott Butler as the new Executive Director as he transitions into his new role with the OGRA,” continued Mr. Tiernay.
Scott is a graduate of the University of Guelph. He has been a member of a number of ministerial advisory committees and currently serves as the Chair of the Guelph Public Library Board.
“I feel honoured and privileged by the opportunity to serve as OGRA’s next Executive Director. The challenges of the near future are great but so are the opportunities. OGRA is well positioned to help municipalities navigate these,” said Scott Butler.
