The Corporation of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is very pleased to announce that after an internal hiring process, Nick Ruller has accepted the position of Fire Chief and Community Emergency Management Coordinator effective immediately.
Nick has held the position of Deputy Chief with the Town since March 2017. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief, Nick spent 16 years in the Operations Division with Toronto Fire Services. Nick first joined the Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire & Emergency Services Department in 1999 and served as a firefighter at Station 1 until 2003, before returning in 2014, and serving as Lieutenant for two years.
In addition to numerous NFPA certifications, Nick has successfully completed the Public Administration & Governance Program at Ryerson University and completed his Masters in Leadership from the University of Guelph. Additionally, Nick holds a graduate certificate from the University of North Carolina in Community Preparedness & Disaster Management.
