Stockholm, Sweden was not always the clean “Green and Blue City” it has garnered recognition for today. Looking back 100 years ago, says Annika Raab, Stockholm was one of the darkest, most polluted cities in Europe. Rightly proud of her city’s accomplishments since then, Annika is Project Manager for City of Stockholm European Green Capital – an award bestowed on Stockholm in 2010, and the first such award made by the European Union.
