A framework for actions and decision making in local government
The evolution of accountability and transparency legislation has been significant over the past decade when it comes to municipal responsibilities and requirements. In Ontario, while section 270 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (the Act) requires municipalities adopt an accountability and transparency policy, it does not detail the extent to which they must be accountable and transparent in their actions.
